If there's enough demand for it, I will try to expand that maximum. The workbook currently supports a maximum of 21 distinct ticker symbols. Click Refresh All to get the last trade price, last trade time, and currency from Google Finance.Enter the ticker symbols you want to track.Having said that, the workbook includes an Instructions sheet that describes how to use the workbook. And I believe Power Query requires at least Excel 2010 or later. I do not know if this will work on a Mac, or if it'll work with Office 365. (Power Query enables a lot of cool things so if you haven't installed it, I highly recommend it.) Also, I've built this on a Windows PC using Excel 2013. Prerequisite: The workbook requires that you have downloaded and installed the free Excel add-in called Power Query.

Please note that this is a read-only file so you will need to save a copy to your local machine. But the good news is that I did create a solution using MS Power Query and Google Finance.

The bad news is that I was unable to create a solution using Yahoo Finance. In response to that article, several people asked me how to retrieve stock quotes for equities listed on non-US exchanges. I'm glad the post I wrote a couple years agodescribing how to use Excel's webservice formula to retrieve stock quotes from Yahoo Finance has proven useful to many people.
